SORAS : Soap Opera Rapid Age Syndrome is the state in which a child on a soap has been aged older than the character is supposed to be for storyline purposes.

In the case of Michael Corinthos ( Nee Quartermaine) the show brought in Drew Garrett to replace Dylan Cash to play Carly's eldest child, after Michael had come out of his coma after having been shot.

He was then Sorased again when Michael was in prison and had been raped by Carter this time  Chad Duell took over the role of Michael. Michael is now a grown man but has been sorased 5 years older than he really should be.

It has happened with the characters Kristina and Morgan as well, so that the viewers can see the characters blossom into the teenage years and then into adulthood.

The only child that has not been Sorased is Robin Scorpio who has been played by Kimberly Mccullough since 1985.

Its fun to see what the  teens get up to or the early 20's, but its hard to deal with sometimes when you know the real age the character is actually supposed to be.

In the case of Emma Drake and Josslyn Jacks these wee little girls who are supposed to be 3 and 2 years old yet they are shown as 9 year old girls having the likes of Spencer Cassadine and Cameron Webber chasing after them.

Sometimes I wish they would let the kids remain they age they are supposed to be.  When the storyline dictates they be older, it makes the viewers groan with disdane because we all know that things will never change.

Such is our lot in life , I just look forward to to next generation to cause some real trouble in Port Charles.
