The nurses ball is the must see event of the season just ask Brad Cooper and Britt Westbourne they've watched the red carpet and the ball along with the viewers for the past two years.

For them and us the red carpet event has been a source of entertainment with the gowns and the occasional trips of a couple of Port Charles' hottest women.

Sam Morgan and Maxie Jones had the unfortunate mishap of falling while on the the red carpet to which the cackling ice cream brigade that is Brad and Britt laughed at them falling on their faces. Brad and Britt aren't shy about saying what they think of the dresses and Britt's expression upon hearing that  Olivia is pregnant was hysterical " But she's a grandmother" Their snide comment about Sam leaving her leather jacket at home was something left to be desired.

And Britt's shock at seeing Valerie wanting to know who the hell she was nothing says jealousy like a girl making rude comments about others.

Aside from the unfortunate incidents there have been some heart breaking things that have happened at the ball, and also some fun exciting ones as well

A Bit of History about the Nurses Ball

Since 1994 General Hospital has put on the nurses ball which helped raise money for Aids research . 

It was a popular event where the cast took to the stage to show off their talent of singing, dancing, and most recently since 2013 stripping courteousy of the male population of Port Charles.

The ladies take centre stage singing and dancing and vamping it up and kicking it up a notch or two.

The most memorable moment was in 1996 when Robin was presented with a quilt with Stone Cate's name on it after he had died of Aids. Robin spoke eloquently about her hiv status and that she was the face of HIV. The poor thing broke down in tears exhausted and a worried Jason Morgan watched in the audience.

He rushed up those stairs and carried her off the stage as everyone watched in awe of his kind gesture to his friend.

Also back in those days Richard Simmons participated in the Nurses Ball, while Lucy Coe and her many gown changes and disrobement lol made the men cat call at her.

In 2001 the Nurses Ball was cut from the show due to budget cuts and the fans were left upset because its the one thing they look forward to every year. Thank goodness in 2013 the show revived it.

Sabrina Santiago, and Felix Dubois spoke to  Lucy Coe and Carly Jacks after  Sabrina had seen old pictures from the previous years in a photo album at Patrick Drake's house while she looked after little Emma.

I find it amusing in some ways that this ball has become not only a tradition , but that we have been front row centre for the craziest stuff to ever happened to the ball. 

For instance Britt announced she was pregnant at the 2013 Nurses Ball claiming the baby she was carrying was Patrick's, it shocked him, and Emma who hated Britt, but it had also upset Sabrina who had just started to see Patrick.

Speaking of Sabrina she turned into a swan from a geek with the help of  Felix and earlier that evening Patrick was stunned when he saw how gorgeous she was.

Rick Springfield returned as Noah Drake and also sang his hit Jessie's girl as himself on stage, which was awesome, and we saw Carly throwing Brenda out of the nurses ball for starting a food fight.

Totally and utterly immature if you ask me, especially since Carly threw water on her before hand. Tit for tat doesn't fly with me even if my favourite character is acting like a spoiled brat because she doesn't like someone.

Other acts included Epiphany, Tracey and Monica singing the song jump by the pointer sisters, Anna and Duke did the tango, and Nancy Lee Grahn's daughter Kate did a number with Molly on stage.

We also got to see Spinelli and Ellie do a routine to the song Blinded me with science

In 2014 during the Nurses " Welcome to the nurses ball " number  Liesel Obrect felt the need to break out into song singing a disturbing version of  you are always on my mind" to her children. It was a hauntingly beautiful song , but it creeped some viewers out.

Also Mac omg where the hell do I start with him and his ventriloquist act , aweful, not amusing until Epiphany broke the damn thing lol.

Kiki sang Raise your glass by  pink, while  Ned sang you took the words right out of my mouth by meatloaf .

Molly , Sam, Lulu ,Maxie and Kiki sang I love it by Icono Pop ,while Luke sang a song that prompted him to propose to Tracey and marry her rigbht there on the spot.

 Singer Eddie Gomez made a special appearance on the show and  Spencer interupted Emma and Cameron's  tango and had the group Player to sing their hit Baby come back , in a bid to win Emma's heart.

This  year it was a typical event everyone dressed to the nine's , Obrecht sang 99 red balloons, we saw aa whole lot of skin being shown by the guys dancing to the song new sensationm the girls sang  Future husband by Meghan Trainor.

I really love the routine the girls did and you really had to laugh when you Saw Sam pretending to drink from the glass and act like she was a bit tipsy lol.

Valerie wiggled her hips just a little too much during that routine which irritated Lulu and Maxie and Ellie were so irriated with each other during the routine it was hard not to notice it.

Spinelli sang the song All of my life which was heart felt and sweet and it made both Ellie and  Maxie tear up.

 Spencer threw sand bags on the stage and almost hit Emma and Cameron yet again disturbing their dance.

Thank god for Lulu taking his bratty little butt home , and this is where Spencer got a visit from the spirit of his mother Courtney, who by all accounts was pretty upset with him for what he had done at the nurses ball and wanted him to see that everyone like him for who he was and not what he looked like.

We also saw Ned singing its still rock and roll to me loved it, and Emma and  Patrick singing  it was so sweet, but the most disturbing thing was that Nikolas  told Elizabeth that Jake Doe is Jason Morgan.

This was of course after Carly had  exposed Ric for the lying snake that he is and it came out that Hayden wasn't Jake's wife after all. Elizabeth slapped Ric and Carly felt vidicated lol.

Elizabeth could have chosen that opportunity to tell everyone Jason was alive , but as usual the writers had her back out of it and she made up some excuse while standing on the stage that it was all about  Jason and Robin and how Jason was dead and Robin was alive ,but how in 1996 they set an example when Robin told everyone she was the face of HIV and how Jason scooped her up when she was crying and carried her off the stage

Jason  still not knowing who he is  told Carly that  he finally gets who Jason really was.

And finally Olivia went into labor and had to have the baby delivered after having to try to get Julian Jerome and Sam to leave her alone.
